Welcome to Belém Brazilian – Amazon Pearl, your gateway to the cultural richness, natural beauty, and sustainability efforts of Belém Brazil. Our mission is to celebrate and share the wonders of this Amazonian city, host of COP 30, and a growing global symbol of environmental and cultural significance.
My name is Rodrigo Almeida, a native of Belém and founder of this project. I hold a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Pará and lived in Belém Brazil for 40 years. Ten years ago, I moved to Portugal, the land of my father and grandfather. This life journey inspired me to create this blog as a way to stay connected to my roots and to introduce the world to the Amazonian region that shaped who I am.
Through stories, images, and videos, I aim to bring visibility to Belém’s unique identity — from the daily life of riverside communities to the cultural importance of the açaí harvest, as documented in our article Açaí from Pará: History, Culture & Sustainability.
Belém is a city of contrasts — where colonial architecture meets bustling markets like Ver-o-Peso. Our article on must-visit places during COP 30 highlights some of the most iconic landmarks and local gems.
One of Belém’s greatest assets is its cuisine. Our stories like Exotic Fruit-Based Desserts of the Amazon and Traditional Amazonian Recipes explore the ingredients and recipes that define this region's culinary legacy.
From lush igarapés to century-old trees, Belém is surrounded by nature. Articles such as Indigenous Cooking Techniques in the Amazon share how nature and tradition coexist in harmony.
As Belém hosts COP 30, our commitment is to promote sustainable tourism by sharing useful information with visitors and celebrating local environmental practices. We want every traveler to experience the region with responsibility and respect.
We invite you to join this journey of discovery. Whether you're planning a visit, researching the Amazon, or just curious about life in Belém Brazil, this platform is for you.
